1. Provide interconnection for the transmission of high-speed optical digital signals over a duplex singlemode fiber optic cable
   1. Duplex singlemode fiber optic cable for transmission of optical digital signals
   2. Cable construction requirements
      1. Shall provide two (2) 8.3/125 µm step-index, bend-insensitive singlemode fibers
         1. Glass fiber core diameter of 8.3 µm
         2. Glass fiber outer diameter of 125 µm
      2. Shall provide a 900 µm tight buffer coating surrounding each glass fiber
      3. Shall provide Aramid yarn as the strengthening material surrounding each tight-buffered fiber
      4. Shall provide a 2 mm diameter, OFNP plenum-rated jacket to meet NEC, CSA, and ICEA safety standards, surrounding each tight-buffered fiber and Aramid yarn strengthening material
      5. Shall provide duplex zip-cord cable construction for strength and protection of the glass fiber
   3. Termination requirements
      1. Shall be unterminated at both ends
      2. Shall be compatible with Extron QLC SM Quick LC Fiber Optic Connectors for field termination
      3. Shall be compatible with the Extron Fiber Optic Termination Kit
   4. Performance requirements
      1. Shall meet or exceed singlemode fiber performance standards
         1. TIA 492CAAA / OS1
         2. ITU G.657.A2; ITU G.657.B2
         3. IEC 60793-2-50, B1.1
      2. Shall provide attenuation of less than 0.5 dB per kilometer at a 1310 nm wavelength
      3. Shall provide attenuation of less than 0.5 dB per kilometer at a 1550 nm wavelength
      4. Shall be bend-insensitive fiber for a tight bend radius of 0.3 inches (7.5 mm) with minimal cable losses
   5. General requirements
      1. Shall be available in a two (2) kilometer (6,562 foot) length
      2. Shall provide an outer dimeter of 0.08" ±0.008" (2.0 mm ±0.2 mm)
      3. Shall meet regulatory compliance
         1. ETL/c-ETL OFNP FT6 (plenum rated)
      4. Shall provide a lifetime limited performance warranty
   6. Approved cable shall be Extron SM P/2K (part number 22-223-02), no alternates or equals
