VCA 100
- Provide an Ethernet-enabled Virtual Control Appliance that is optimized to support up to thirty virtual control processors for the purpose of remotely controlling, monitoring, and troubleshooting connected AV equipment and AV systems.
- Ethernet enabled virtual control appliance
- Shall include five virtual control processors by default
- Shall support additional virtual control processors by applying Extron LinkLicenses
- Shall include a web-based AV resource management console that provides a means to manage and monitor virtual control processors
- Device shall have a female RJ-45 jack located on the back of the enclosure that supports 10/100/1000 Base-T, half/full duplex with auto-detect for connection to a LAN or WAN and includes link and activity LED indicators located on the jack for troubleshooting network issues
- Device shall include a multi-function button located on the back of the enclosure that allows for the reset of the device or its communication properties at minimum
- Device shall include a recessed power button located on the back of the enclosure that allows for the safe shutdown of the Virtual Control Appliance
- Provide front panel LED activity indicators for power status, SSD status, and network status
- Device shall support the following protocols:
- Device shall be equipped with an internal universal AC power supply capable of supporting 100 – 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz power.
- Device shall have the following specifications at a minimum:
- Intel Celeron 2.42 GHz processor
- 8 GB DDR3 memory
- 512 GB SSD storage
- Device shall support a Linux based operating system
- Virtual control processors
- Up to 30 virtual control processors may reside on the virtual control appliance
- Each virtual control processor is independent and unaffected by the remaining virtual control processors hosted on the virtual control appliance
- Each virtual control processor shall share the hardware resources of the virtual control appliance
- Shall support individual and bulk management and monitoring of the virtual control processors via the web-based management console of the virtual control appliance
- Each virtual control processor’s firmware can be independently maintained and updated using Extron’s Toolbelt application
- Virtual control processors are only compatible with Extron’s IPCP Pro xi and IPCP Pro Q xi Quad Core Control Processors
- Shall support the addition of an Extron LinkLicense for User Interfaces
- Up to 30 virtual control processors may reside on the virtual control appliance
- Mounting requirements
- Device shall be housed in a 1 RU, half rack width metal enclosure.
- Device shall be rack mountable using an optional rack shelf.
- Software requirements
- Virtual control processors may be configured or programmed using Extron’s Global Configurator Plus or Professional, or Global Scripter respectively.
- Device drivers and modules can be obtained through Extron support resources and database.
- Virtual control processors shall be configured or programmed by an Extron authorized user.
- The configuration and settings for the virtual control appliance and virtual control processors shall be managed using Extron’s Toolbelt software
- Security Requirements
- Device shall support SFTP and SSH for secure communication between the virtual control processors and all control system expansion interfaces, TouchLink Pro touchpanels, and Network Button Panels
- Device shall support HTTPS for secure communication between the virtual control processors and the embedded web pages
- Device shall provide the option to modify administrator and user credentials of the virtual control appliance itself using either the web-based management console or Extron’s Toolbelt application
- Virtual control processors shall provide the option to modify administrator and user credentials using Extron’s Toolbelt application
- Device and virtual control processors shall support security updates to maintain network health
- Device and virtual control processors shall require that Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificates are installed to maintain system confidentiality and data integrity
- Device and virtual control processors shall support the installation of an owner furnished certificate with the following properties:
- Certificates shall include x.509 support
- Certificates shall include public / private key exchange
- Certificates shall support PEM encoding
- Extron shall furnish documentation that describes all supported network ports and services
- Shall meet regulatory compliances
- C-Tick
- Complies with the appropriate requirements of RoHS

- FCC Class A
