NetPA U 8001 SUB
- Provide a compact, energy efficient audio amplifier for subwoofers with low thermal dissipation that shall support two digital audio inputs received from a Dante® audio network, two digital audio outputs to a Dante audio network, two analog line inputs, one amplified output with 800 watts rms power output, and two line level outputs.
- Compact amplifier with 800 watts rms power output per channel, Dante audio networking, and Ecofficient Level 3 qualification
- Input Requirements
- Shall support two digital audio inputs, received from a Dante audio network via an RJ-45 connector
- Shall support two, balanced or unbalanced line signals on one 6-pole, 3.5 mm captive screw connector
- Output Requirements
- Shall support two balanced or unbalanced line level signals on one 6-pole, 3.5 mm captive screw connector
- Outputs will provide Dante audio pass-through
- Shall support two digital audio outputs, transmitted to a Dante audio network via an RJ-45 connector
- Shall support one speaker level signal on one 2-pole, 5 mm screw-lock captive screw connector
- Shall provide 800 watts rms output power into 8 ohms measured at 1 kHz with < 0.1% THD
- Shall provide 650 watts rms output power into 4 ohms measured at 1 kHz with < 0.1% THD
- Shall provide 325 watts rms output power into 2 ohms measured at 1 kHz with < 0.1% THD
- Shall provide a line in to line out and digital out signal-to-noise ratio at least 90 dB measured from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, unweighted
- Shall support a minimum load impedance of 2 ohms
- Shall provide a THD+N measurement of less than 0.1% measured at 1 kHz, at 8 ohms and 3 dB below clipping on the amplifier output
- Shall support two balanced or unbalanced line level signals on one 6-pole, 3.5 mm captive screw connector
- DSP Engine Requirements
- Shall provide integrated audio DSP engine
- Shall provide a mix matrix such that all inputs and returns can be discretely routed to any or all of the outputs
- Shall provide 4 DSP input channels with filters, dynamics, and gain processing
- Shall provide 5 DSP output channels with delay, filters, dynamics, and attenuation processing
- Configuration Software Requirements
- Shall provide PC-based DSP Configurator Software allowing flexible control of the digital signal processor’s fixed architecture
- Shall provide a Live mode for real-time control of parameters without compiling and file uploading to processor
- Shall provide an Emulate mode for offline configuration
- Shall provide single, scrollable window for viewing of all inputs and outputs, audio processing blocks, routing, mix points, and virtual routing
- Shall provide setup and configuration of digital audio processing tools including, but not limited to: Filters (high pass, low pass, bass shelving, treble shelving, crossover, and parametric); Dynamics processing (Compressor, Limiter); Delay processing; and Ducking
- Shall provide cut, copy, paste editing between processing blocks
- Shall provide matrix routing with integrated mix point gain adjustment between inputs and outputs
- Shall provide a library of pre-designed processor settings for inputs and outputs with user-customizable parameters
- Shall provide Group Master controls for consolidation of individual gain or mute control members of the same type into one point of control
- Shall provide Soft Limits settings to define upper and lower control limits on Group Masters for use with external controls
- Shall provide Presets for recall of any processing block setting, level setting or audio routing; presets shall be saved for the entire system, or any selected partial group of inputs, outputs, mix points, and DSP blocks
- Shall provide real-time metering of levels within each Input Gain, Compressor, Limiter, and Output Attenuation processing block in Live mode
- Shall provide a Meter Bridge window for real-time metering of all input and output channels with clipping indication in Live mode

- Amplifier Requirements
- Shall utilize an efficient Class D amplifier design
- Shall provide Class D Ripple Suppression technology
- Shall be convection cooled and operate without fans or vents
- Shall provide an automatic clip limiter to detect onset of clipping by comparing input and output waveforms and automatically reduce gain without audible artifacts to eliminate clipping distortion
- Shall provide multiple protection circuits that activate during output shorts, thermal overload, or DC faults
- Shall provide power factor correction technology to remove harmonic content on the AC power line
- Dante Audio Networking Requirements
- Shall support receive channels over a local area network using standard Internet protocols
- Two Dante channels will be tied to the DSP input section
- Shall support transmit channels over a local area network using standard Internet protocols
- Two Dante channels tied to the DSP output section
- Shall support Dante Controller software for digital audio network configuration
- Shall support Dante Domain Manager network management software for network security and logical segmenting.
- Shall support the AES67 standard for interoperability with other devices that also support AES67
- Shall provide an RJ-45 connector to support Dante audio network connection
- Shall synchronize to the master clock on the Dante network
- Shall provide uncompressed digital audio at 48 kHz sampling rate with 24-bit resolution
- Shall support receive channels over a local area network using standard Internet protocols
- Power Requirements
- Shall draw 104.7 watts during typical (1/8 power) operation with all output channels driven with 4 ohm loads
- Shall draw 121 watts during typical (1/8 power) operation with all output channels driven with 8 ohm loads
- Shall draw 10.4 watts during quiescent operation
- Shall provide a low power standby mode
- Shall provide a selectable auto standby timer
- Input Requirements
- Compact amplifier with 800 watts rms power output per channel, Dante audio networking, and Ecofficient Level 3 qualification
- When timer is enabled, shall enter standby mode after 25 minutes of inactivity
- Shall draw 4 watts or less while in standby mode
- Shall return to full power status in less than 100 milliseconds upon signal detection while in standby mode
- Shall meet Ecofficient Level 3 requirements
- Shall provide internal universal power supply with IEC power socket and support for international 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz standards
- Control Requirements
- Shall support remote standby control on 3.5 mm captive screw connectors
- Shall accept 3.5 mm captive screw connectors to support bidirectional RS-232
- Shall support remote control operation via external control system using Simple Instruction Set commands sent over RS-232, Dante network connection, or USB
- Front Panel Requirements
- Shall provide an LED for power indication that lights green when the unit is receiving power and active, and lights amber when the unit is in standby mode
- LED shall blink momentarily in the same color and pattern as the Link indicator LED on the rear panel when an “Identify Device” request is sent from Dante Controller software
- Shall provide a green LED for input signal presence indication
- Shall provide a red LED for indication of clip warning and protection circuit activation
- Shall provide a red LED for indication of the enclosure temperature exceeding the optimal value
- Shall provide an LED for power indication that lights green when the unit is receiving power and active, and lights amber when the unit is in standby mode
- Rear Panel Requirements
- Shall provide an RJ-45 connector to support Dante digital audio network connection and up to four incoming digital audio channels
- Shall provide green LED for indication of synchronization to the master clock on the Dante network
